I finished Ch6+7

I just finish reading chapter 6 and 7, but I don’t really understand what happened between Will and Ray in the end. Was Ray not paying Will on purpose?

I have not start reading The Truth About Stories yet, but I’ll get to it this evening after I finished my Physics and Chemistry homework. Sigh.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I had ordered the Wordly Wise books already. My mom and I decided to buy it on its website instead of buying it on bookdepository.com. We think it takes too long for it to mail, and we both agree that me and Kylie should start working on our vocabulary ASAP. I think the books could be here at any moment because I placed the order last Saturday.

Today’s English 11

We were watching the Medicine River movie and we had started the beginning of chapter 5 in class. We also had a discussion on the events in the book: are they locating Will or dislocating him. For example, Harlem always talking about what’s happening on the reserve and encouraging Will to engage in the events is a location; on the other hand, Will’s mother hitting him because he read the letters from his dad is a dislocating event. Our teacher even asked us about what is locating and dislocating for us. Then our teacher showed us some videos of Blackfoot traditional events like the hand game.

We are asked to finish reading the rest of chapter five for homework.

Medicine River Ch.4

I finished reading Ch.4 yesterday and I think it is really strange to put a chapter like this in a book. Maybe the author’s purpose is to make more connection between Will’s present and his past? Women abuse is kind of a sad topic.

By the way, I think I might go to the public library today to get the book that I ordered. It’s The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan (it’s related to the Percy Jackson series).
